Ask the host about the handover

If accommodation keys must be collected somewhere other than the property, obtain the exact arrangement from the host or accommodation provider. Keep the key-collection address and final destination as separate locations. Do not assume that the transport request to the apartment includes the additional stop.

Clarify who will be available and how the handover is expected to work. A vehicle booking cannot confirm that a host, office or representative will be ready to provide access.

Describe the two-location journey

When requesting transport, explain that the party needs to collect keys before continuing to the accommodation. Supply both addresses and ask for the proposed arrangement to be assessed. If the key handover is still uncertain, keep that uncertainty visible rather than presenting it as a quick guaranteed stop.

Check the written quote for the agreed scope. Any waiting or additional destination should be understood before acceptance. Do not rely on a family member’s assumption that the locations are close enough to be interchangeable.

Prepare for the actual arrival

Make sure the lead traveller has the host’s confirmed instructions as well as the transport details. Keep the roles clear: the accommodation contact handles access, while the transport provider handles the agreed journey. If one arrangement changes, review its effect on the other.

If keys can later be delivered directly or the handover point changes, request any corresponding transport amendment through the proper channel. An update from the host does not automatically revise the vehicle booking.

The useful preparation is to reveal the extra location before it becomes an arrival-day surprise. Two clear addresses and an agreed handover process let the journey be assessed honestly, without turning a direct transfer into an unplanned multi-stop request.
